At Holy Family Academy we see many lights that beckon us forward through our wonderful students. We thank you for your commitment to Holy Family Academy and for your support. Your children are a joy to teach and to know. You made the right choice with Holy Family Academy. We are a family of faith, charity, and high academic standards.

Did you know, sixteen former HFA students out of a total of twenty three Holy Family Academy students, who are now juniors at Marian Catholic High School, were inducted into the National Honor Society Wednesday, October 24, 2012? Academic excellence carries over into high school.

Did you know, twenty nine students tried out for the HFA Forensics' team? Ten students were selected to compete in Forensics on Thursday, October 25, 2012. They all did very well. We are proud of our students for going above and beyond. The following students participated in Forensics; Angela Kalenak, Victoria Dutz, Megan Fay, Nicole Capparell, Faith letcher, Jamie Zapotosky, Megan Ferrello, Brooke Yacubek and Claudia Stroia.

Did you know, HFA Cross Country boys and girls teams won first place in Class A, All Coaches Race last week? We are proud of our athletics.

Did you know, Megan Ferrela, a Holy Family Academy student won an essay contest through Scope Literary Magazine?

Several families attended the Pontifical Mass For World Mission Sunday at the Cathedral of Saint Peter, Scranton. Thank you for attending the beautiful Mass with The Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.c.l. and Reverend Thomas Hagan, O.s.F. Thank you: Malloy family, Hinkle family, lesante family, Yenchick family, and Bissol family for attending the Mission Mass.

The Student Council Induction Liturgy was celebrated Wednesday, October 24"'. Reverend John C. Lambert, v.E., Episcopal Vicar, Eastern Pastoral Region and Vicar for School Planning was the celebrant. We are looking forward to the leadership of our Student Council. Student Council members will be our Tour Guides during our Open House on Sunday, October 28th. Thank you.



Open House, Sunday, October 28th from 1:00PM-3:00PM for prospective students. Any new student who registers will be entered into a drawing for a $100.00 tuition credit. A gift will be presented to any NEW student who registers for HFA and pays the $100.00 registration fee on Sunday. Any family presently attending HFA who brings a new student to HFA will have their name placed in a drawing for the $100.00 tuition credit if the new student registers.

At the Open House we will present Academics in Action. Students involved in PJAS, Student Council, Students of Service {SOSL Mission Club, and members of the Forensic's Team will present information regarding their clubs between 1:00PM and 2:00PM. The Forensic's Team will perform. The Channel 13

. Family Time clips will be shown in the cafeteria for everyone to enjoy. Come and bring a friend that will help our Holy Family Academy Family grow in enrollment.

The Rosary will be prayed on Monday, October 28th in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church at 1:00PM. Students in the Mission Club Will prepare the Rosary Prayer Service. All families and friends of Holy Family Academy are welcome to attend.

Holy Family Academy has received a donation for the purchase of l-Pads, We are looking forward to the arrival of the l-Pads for the students to utilize as another tool use for academics.

The second quarter begins on November 5, 2012.

Watch Channel 13 and see HFA on Family Time each week. HFA news is in the Standard Speaker each week for you to read and share with prospective families.

Edline is an ongoing tool to use for home/school communication. We strongly encourage you to use Edline daily. Parent/Teacher Conferences provides another opportunity for open communication. Please complete the Parent/Teacher Conference form and return it on Monday. When attending the Conference please arrive on time and keep to the 5-7 minute conference. Thank you very much.

The Voucher Contest is still going on. If you purchase Gift Certificates your name will be placed in a drawing for a $100.00 in gift cards. The holidays are approaching. Good Luck!
